GOVERNOR PRITZKER WON’T FOLLOW HIS OWN (IDPH) MITIGATION STEPS AND
RE-OPEN HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES.
Restore Illinois lists the below metrics to move from Tier 3 to Tier 2 mitigations.
- Reach a 7-day average COVID positivity test rate of 12% or less for 3 consecutive days
- Maintain a 3-day average of 20% or more ICU and hospital bed capacity
- Have a declining 7-day average COVID hospitalizations for 7 out of the last 10 days
This week Region 6 (Champaign, Effingham, Decatur), Region 9 (Lake and McHenry Counties), and Region 1 (Rockford and Northwest Illinois) met the above metrics. Governor Pritzker continues to move the goal posts as he did not allow Regions 6, 9 and 1 to re-open this week.
ILLINOIS GAMING BOARD PAYMENT DUE DATES: The following is a statement from the IGB
“In light of the current COVID-19 pause in statewide video gaming and casino gambling, due dates for payments to the IGB are extended to 10 business days after a resumption of gaming. Please check the Illinois Gaming Board website for updates and more information regarding video gaming operations.”
BIG GRANT RECIPIENT CONCERNS: We have learned that as part of Illinois DCEO’s BIG Grant program, all grant recipients promise to remain in “full compliance” with all applicable rules and laws. Confirmed violations are being solicited by the DCEO and those recipients will be notified that, due to their failure to remain in “full compliance,” they will be required to pay back the amount of their grant. Again, Illinois BIG Grant recipients who fail to remain in “full compliance” of all laws and rules will be ordered to pay back their grants. Obviously, everyone has a right to due process, however, this information should be taken into account when considering their options.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT TRAINING REQUIREMENT – Illinois currently has a deadline of December 31, 2020 to complete employee sexual harassment training. We do not know “how and when” the state of Illinois will regulate and monitor sexual harassment training. The ILBA offers on-line sexual harassment training via TAP Series for $9.95/person. The TAP Series program is approved in Illinois by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) for the hospitality industry.
