Update on the 2020 ABL Annual Meeting |
ABL Indefinitely Postpones Annual Meeting |
BETHESDA, MD – March 12, 2020 – Over the past week, cascading developments with COVID-19 have heightened concern and raised potential risk for those planning on traveling to and participating in the 2020 ABL Annual Meeting.
After deliberative and careful consideration, and with the safety of our attendees, members, speakers, sponsors and staff top of mind, we have decided to indefinitely postpone the 2020 ABL Annual Meeting. The 2020 ABL Annual Meeting was scheduled to be held in New Orleans on March 29-30, at the Hilton New Orleans – St. Charles Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana.
In light of this decision, ABL will automatically cancel and fully refund all paid registrations in the next 10 business days.
To minimize other financial impact on registrants:
- Annual Meeting registrants who booked hotel rooms at the Hilton New Orleans – St. Charles Ave. under the ABL room block, will have their room reservations automatically canceled by the hotel. If you wish to speak with the hotel or confirm the cancellation of your room reservation, you may contact the hotel at (504) 378-2800. For those who booked rooms with the hotel outside of the ABL room block, please check your reservation’s cancellation policy.
- Annual Meeting registrants who booked air travel to attend the event need to contact their respective carrier regarding their own ticket.
As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, ABL will be working with leaders in government and industry to make sure hospitality businesses are informed and prepared to protect their staff and customers, and to address the economic impact that containment and mitigation protocols may have on bar, tavern and package store businesses across the country.
We appreciate all those ABL members and industry partners who planned to attend the 2020 ABL Annual Meeting and support “America’s Beer, Wine and Spirits Retailers.” Should you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, and I look forward to raising a glass with you at the next ABL Annual Meeting.
Best regards,
John
